Bacalao Nouvelle Newfoundland Cuisine

I visited this restaurant for lunch on Friday. Our server was friendly, attentive, and absolutely beautiful. The food arrived quickly and was incredibly delicious. The portion sizes were perfect for a midday meal. Overall, it was a fantastic experience and I will definitely be returning in the future.

The atmosphere, menu creativity, top-notch service, and innovative bar at this restaurant are exceptional. With three years in business, the positive experience is consistent. This establishment is easily one of my top five favorite restaurants worldwide. Trust them to create a fantastic dining experience for you.

After being in St John's now for ~6 weeks I must start leaving reviews because 4 5 starts are consistently handed out here to underwhelming restaurants. Bacalao is one of them. Went in early for Sunday brunch, table for 2. The good: place is cozy. My dish (George Street special) was fine but that's about it, nothing spectacular. The bad: Cappuccino was average (much better coffee can be found elsewhere in STJ). My GF ordered the omelette of the day and it was mediocre (and missing the mushrooms). We make much better omelettes at home! Finally, we had to wait ages for a waitress once we wanted to get the check. It was early and few tables occupied so no idea why the long wait. Lastly, almost $60 for 2 egg dishes and 2 coffees (including tip) seems overpriced considering the quality/taste. I suggest you go somewhere else for brunch.

The food and service at this restaurant were excellent! Be sure to try the seafood Carbonara.

Not a menu for diversity: so many options are seductive here. Very much locally inspired dishes exquisitely prepared with what can only really be fresh ingredients. Fish and seafood dishes were fantastic. Interesting wine line also with several Canadian options
