La Mesa Modern Mexican - St. Charles

Went in to celebrate my fiancés birthday. No acknowledgement at all from our server or hosts. It was in the open table notes. No offer for dessert at the end or surprise with a candle. We came here in April for a friends birthday and we’re treated like royalty, much different experience this time. We Had to walk up to the bar to get more water/water refills. Server had 0 energy or enthusiasm. He seemed annoyed to be there. We were annoyed for him. Rather he stayed home.

Fantastic food from beginning to end. Service started slow but improved greatly once the food started coming. Can't wait to come back next year during my next business trip here. Bravo!

Food is really good. Was quite loud and we felt a little rushed. Kind of wished they would switch to single tacos so you could mix and match. The cerviche was amazing.

Great food and lively place- pretty noisy- had to shout but it was a sat/ coukd not hear music food tho is delish and service attentive- great margaritas and lively atmosphere

Great margaritas and killer food as always! Have had takeout many times, but in-dining was spectacular.
