The Blue Mermaid - St. Catharines

The restaurant appears to be stuck in the past, with an outdated menu and mediocre food and service. It was unsettling to see that not all of the owners and wait staff were wearing masks, despite the mandatory requirement. This lack of responsibility and concern for their elderly clientele is concerning. The owners and staff should prioritize the safety of their customers during the pandemic by wearing masks.

The food (chateubriand) calamari and onion soup were exceptional! The desert was excellent (baked Alaska, cheesecake and pecan pie) . The service was just amazing! Friendly, accommodating, welcoming and very attentive to our needs. A gem of a fine dining restaurant in St Catherines Ontario....Don’t need to go to Niagara Falls no more for steaks and seafood. The price was very reasonable Adults came out to under each that’s with appetizers, a litre of Mondavi Merlot, and the above mentioned meals and tip). The piano man was very entertaining and friendly as well. Just loving this place! Please don’t change…

Love this place. This restaurant has been running since the and it wins in all the categories...quality, service, and ambience. Cost is higher end but fine for the quality of the experience. It is very consistent nothing changes here. The interior has or feel very luxurious and comfortable. Love the calamari or shrimp cocktail appetizer, ceasar salad prepared at the table, clam chowder, centennial seafood platter, fish of the day, rib steak and filet mignon, and must do flambee cherries jubilee for desert. Dinner here should be a hour plus experience.

We have lived in countries including Canada. When we retired and moved to Niagara, we discovered the Blue Mermaid. It soon became a favourite and we rate the steak/seafood house as one of the best we have visited in those aforementioned countries. Most...of our visits were to the Lounge where we found the food, ambiance and service excellent.

We had no idea about this place and came across it as I researched the best steaks in town here (considering other places were booked) I had to make other means. I was hesitant as I don’t like to try much new BUT in reading...the reviews I was almost sure that it would be good... the reviews were right. EVERY bite was delicious. The salmon dipped in the sauce, delicious carrots, potatoes were so soft and my husband being the steak guy that he is was suggested to get the bone-in steak from the owner. What a treat. I had a taste of his taste it was SO tasty.. flavourful.. moist.. grizzle was amazing and charred to perfection, every bite. I’m glad the other places were sold out as this won’t be the last time hopefully as we already plan to come again. Service made the food amazing and ambiance as well. Great job to the chef there. Seriously better than other steak places I’ve had by far and I’m picky with steaks being too undercooked or too dry. You won’t be disappointed. Trust me. I’m a foodie and this food is fine dining with amazing Caesar salad for (it’s expensive but worth watching them make it in front of you) and my husband being not so much of a dessert person suggested the butter pecan pie.. we shared it and the owner even put a nice candle on for us! Lol. We had a great time and the Bill are the end of the night wasn’t bad but worth it to us due to the server we had too Awesome food and keep up the work there! They don’t have open table online reservations so you have to call. You will not be disappointed!!!!!
