Tank's Sushi Bistro(wgv)

My wife and I came here today at 7PM. This was our first time here. Half the tables were empty so not too busy. We were seated immediately. After 15 mins of sitting there we watched 3 groups of people come in, sit down and within seconds were taken drink orders.We never seen our wait person. We flagged down the lady that seated us and she went to find out about our wait person...she returned and said she was busy but the waitress wanted her to take our drink order.We left. We will probably never return.

We 've tried to like this place because it 's convenient, but the quality of the food is poor, the menu is extremely limited, and the sushi choices lack variety. We 've ordered from them several times, and the fish is never flavorful, and the rice has a strange, off taste to it. The food never seems to be fresh. The atmosphere is fine, and the service has been fine, but we 've tried many sushi places, and this one is by far the worst.

IN REPONSE TO OWNERS RESONSE: First, the group was me and my friend....two people. And both me and my friend tipped on our separate checks. My check was less than $30. I don 't ' know what my friend 's check was because not my business. Your waitress was just upset that I didn 't tip 18%. Between the two of us she received a total of 30% tip. Maybe you should read my review more carefully and stick to telling the truth. Lying is not a good impression to make on your restaurant. Dropping your rating lower.BTW...her long and stressful shift by herself ....it was 11:30am and your restaurant had just opened!ORIGINAL REVIEW:Went their to eat lunch with a friend of mine. Great sushi and fantastic clear soup. The two star rating is because when my check came (separate checks amongst the group), I tipped less than 18% and was told they REQUIRE a minimum tip of 18%. I explained to the waitress that she can 't tell me how much to tip. After a little back- -forth, she said Whatever! and left the table in a huff. I think they need to learn the rules of tipping. BTW...between the whole table, she ended up with a 30% tip. Not sure what her beef is about, but I won 't be going back.

I could eat Tank's literally everyday. Their food is always fresh- especially the sushi and other seafood. My kids love the chicken and steak hibachi and that is always fresh too! The prices are a little high, but I'll pay for quality. We love the red pepper shrimp (breaded, spicy), HWY 16 and Dynamite rolls too! The ginger dressing is delicious.
