Sushi Sen - Squamish

We went to the restaurant for lunch and ordered the octopus balls, a few rolls each, and a large soup. The portions were generous, and we had leftovers. Everything was tasty. The interior of the restaurant was simple but clean.

This was our first disappointing sushi experience in the Greater Vancouver area. The sushi was poorly made, lacked flavor, and some of the ingredients seemed uncharacteristically stale. Additionally, the staff appeared indifferent towards the cleanliness of the tables. Overall, it was a regrettable experience and we do not plan on returning.

I have never encountered a restaurant where the server questions the tip amount. The food I ordered was terrible and the bill came to $30. Despite the poor service and food quality, I still left a tip. However, the server came back and questioned the amount, insinuating that I tipped too much. Tips should be earned, not demanded, and it was inappropriate for the server to make racist comments about Indians not tipping. I regret tipping at all and having to hear such offensive remarks from the server.

Thought the food was eh. Ordered the sashimi bento dinner box. Thought the salad needed way more dressing. Sashimi’s didn’t taste that fresh either. Tofu, California roll and tempura tasted decent though!

Excellent food. They were really busy and we had a large group, so I found them not as attentive as you'll typically find (never got a water refill, finally had to go get pitchers).
