Contribuiți la feedbackOn a recent visit to the doctor, we were directed to try this spot. Noticing sheriff's cars in the parking lot was a promising sign, suggesting that locals enjoy the food. The atmosphere was pleasant, though we were seated in a separate room on our own, leaving me curious about the dishes other diners were enjoying. Unfortunately, they didn’t offer chilaquiles either. The service was quick and efficient, and we were treated to a generous portion of delicious homemade chips and salsa. I had to ask my husband to move them out of reach before I got too full to enjoy my meal. I ordered beef taquitos with rice and beans, while my husband had a burrito combo. Even in Reno, I never encountered better refried beans—they reminded me exactly of what my friend's grandmother used to make back in LA. Even without speaking a word of English, her cooking was unforgettable. The rice was equally fantastic. The taquitos were crispy, juicy, and packed with flavor, but I found the guacamole a bit too runny. Thankfully, I had the foresight to order no lettuce or tomatoes, as many places use them to mask a meager serving of guacamole. Sure enough, the amount I received was disappointing. Fountain drinks can be hit or miss, but here, the balance of carbonation and flavor was just right. I would happily come back just for a Coke and chips with salsa. I wish I could share my husband’s thoughts on his burrito, but he was so put off by the small portion sizes relative to the prices that he couldn’t focus long enough to tell me. He has a point—while I understand that times are tough, these prices don't match the portion sizes. This is why I’m giving the restaurant four stars instead of five. I would have taken off two stars due to my husband’s dissatisfaction, but my lunch was too delicious to overlook. To the owner: Please consider offering Chilaquiles with Cotija cheese and Albondigas Pozole. Additionally, it would be great if you could increase the portion sizes and perhaps reduce the dilution of the guacamole a bit. If you do this, you'll have a food snob like me coming back regularly and leaving completely satisfied.
This restaurant is consistently a reliable choice for Mexican food in town. The service is always excellent, and the salsa is fantastic. I've tried various entrees, and I've even had their food catered for events at work. It's a wonderful place, and I genuinely enjoy dining here.
I will definitely go back to eat there again. The burrito was outstanding, and I really enjoyed the sauce.
The Chile relleno was lacking cheese and was full of seeds and cold. The shrimp cocktail was room temp when it should be nice and cold. The side of rice was so bland and a waste of money. I was staying at the hotel next door and thought this would be easy yummy food. I ended up eating the chips and salsa while my cocktail sat in the freezer. They said they would remake it but tit wasn't worth the walk which is about 50 steps
The wait to be seated/acknowledged was long. The location of where we sat was questionable. The wait for a server was ridiculous. The server was absolutely perfect. The food was sufficient. The cost was reasonable. The cashier added a 1 to our ticket. We will not ever return. With no explanation the cashier added 1 to our ticket as if we wouldn't notice. We feel she stole from us. At the absolute minimum she should have communicated the reasoning behind the additional cost, or the restaurant should have absorbed the 1. I realize it's 1. ONE whole was not worth a scene, yet for the restaurant ONE whole cost them a repeat customer who tips well.
