Drinks came out promptly and meals followed about 10 minutes later. The Schnitzels were...dinner plate size, sitting on a dinner plate of fries. A very generous meal with only two out four being eaten completely and not from want of trying. Our outside table was at street level across the road from the Danube, so not exactly river views more beside the river. Really well cooked Schnitzel, very nice beer all alongside the Danube.
We had very slow service at the non-smoking side. The food is good, and it is definitely a bonus that there is a non-smoking area!
The place is a typical Austrian beer garden restaurant. We were a family of 4 adults. The food was nice, large portions and cheap. The only thing that killed me was we ordered starters, maincourses, desserts and 4 glasses of tap water !!! We were...charged for each medium size glass E0.90!, they called it stillwasser 1/4 (a bottle of water 500ml in the street cost us half of that). We have visited Austria twice a year for the past 8 years and this is the first and only time that we were charged for tap water. I am sorry I cannot understand their logic
Good traditional food. But the best marillenknöndl I have ever tasted. WOW! Must taste it here in the season of apricots. Other dishes are very traditional and quite tasty. Just a bit old fashioned.
