Corner Lanes Bowling - Spirit Lake

I took two grandchildren ages 2 and 4 to bowl today. We had the place to ourselves, as we arrived the minute they opened. The owners, a married couple, both working and very nice! They helped us along as it was my first time in ...to find the childrens ball and get us all ready to go. Midway thru, the owner came over and asked if he could get us something to drink. I ordered mini corn dogs and fries for the kids. It was brought out in no time and one of the owners helped the kids get all set up...even pouring their ketchup and telling them look, its a mountain. ...and placing two holiday colored straws in each of their drinks. Both owners briefly visited with the boys. The prices were extremely reasonable! They had a great time using the dinosaur assist when bowling and the kids gobbled all of their yummy food. We will certainly be returning.

Every time we stop in to bowl the answer is no because of league . League is these days and those times maybe those hrs with these exceptions and every other this and that week but only if this amount of people show up there might be a lane open?? I asked, can we see the hours online? She said there wrong. The place is nostalgic which is cool, the equipment is 90% efficient.

If you or your family are looking for some birthday fun, please make those plans elsewhere. Everything outside of our assigned bowling lane was an awful experience for me and my family. From the moment we stepped inside the building today, it was obvious the employees don't enjoy working here. I understand that it may have been a long, busy day catering to customers, but even a silent nod of acknowledgement would have gone a long way. Instead, we weren't greeted, addressed to flatly, and whenever we would thank an employee for fulfilling a request, we were blankly stared at and ignored. Also, the toilets in the women's restroom didn't appear to be cleaned regularly either. When we were just about to start a third game, an employee wordlessly began setting up a large lane conditioner/cleaning machine for several minutes and left it sitting in front of us, blocking our way. After some time, we asked another employee if they could move the machine for us to continue (the lane next to us was open/unused), but was told that they were setting up for a bowling league so no current games could go on. This would have been nice to know sooner, through some kind of announcement, or even a flyer at the entrance to warn guests of the schedule. In polite terms, it was a disappointing experience to end my baby sister's birthday celebrations on.
