Nevertheless, to get the food, but to judge by the messily handwritten A4 menu on the wall and what I have seen on other plates looks straight and decent.
Royal oak. nothing imaginable about this traditional no ruffle pub and its food, tasty, honest and filling, and that makes it great.
Live locally so have a lot of places in the opposite attempt, and so far this is one of the best pubs. eating and service are always good; it's not too expensive.
While we were at a pub near London Bridge, the bartender at The King's Arms, just down the road (another great Harvey's pub), recommended that we visit The Royal Oak. We were pleased that we followed his advice. The pub was beautiful, the beer was excellent, and the service was friendly.
I have been a regular patron at this pub for over 25 years and have always enjoyed the great service, food, and beer. Last night, I met up with two friends at 8:00 pm for drinks and dinner after a long day on our feet. To our disappointment, the kitchen, which was supposed to be open until 9:00 pm according to the website, was already closed. The bar staff seemed indifferent and did not provide any further information. The whole pub appeared to be getting ready for their weekly pub quiz, giving the impression that the previously excellent central London spot was now catering more towards other customers.
