I love fresh fish, this place never disappoints. The staff are friendly, prices are reasonable and the best part is the fish is cooked to order. Well worth waiting for as I've never had a bad fish and chips from this place yet. The cosy restaurant is perfect for those wanting to eat in and in summer there's a lovely outside area where you can enjoy your fresh fish and chips while watching the world go by.
What more can you say? It's been many years since I've lived near a decent chippy (I imagine the whole industry is in decline, sadly), but I really appreciate living near this one. Staff are always friendly, and the chips are great. Unlike other local chippies, they don't use nut oil in their frying, which is reassuring for people with allergies.
Think chunky chips, not a soggy mess in your paper. I have eaten out of this chip shop everyday of the week mon-fri the chips are constantly very good and fridays some how slight better. I eat early just after it opens at 1200 and they are still very good. The fish is freshly fried for you and is crisp. The saveloy is not to my taste(meaty peppery one is) but does not taste cheap. The fish cakes are homemade and covered in batter which is unusual to me but they are tasty not as taste as mcd's for me but good. The chicken wings are slightly spicey and 6 for £1.50 is good value. The shop is clean and well presented. If you have a problem the staff are polite and helpful. Easy parking outside... recommended.
Amazingly tasty chip shop, friendly staff, not cheap but not expensive either, it's a must have Friday treat. Always the right choice.
