Portena - Southwark

"The steak sandwich at Portena in Borough Market is excellent! This was our first visit to the market and we came all the way from Leicestershire. We initially stopped by for an empanada but were drawn to the steak sandwiches as well. They were fantastic! We will definitely be coming back for another visit."

I ordered a steak sandwich and while it was being cooked fresh in front of me, I enjoyed a couple of Empanadas as a snack. The sandwich was a good size, with two flat steaks, making it perfect for a quick bite after work and before having a few beers.

The staff at this restaurant is friendly and the food is excellent, especially their hot wine! It's a must-try!

Absolutely crisp steak and top-top service, beautiful young lady served us and was polite. late night grub? let go of the house.

Great value for a Saturday dinner, 3 empanadas and a beer or wine for £10. that was eating fab and reminded me of when I lived in Argentinia. we're coming back. axee
