I ordered delivery from Sakana for the first time today, and it was a major letdown. The flavors did not meet the standards of Japanese cuisine. The teriyaki chicken had a strong rosemary flavor instead of the usual sweetness. The miso soup was disappointing as it contained no tofu or seaweed. The ramen broth was one of the worst tonkotsu broths I've ever tried, and the broth-to-noodle ratio was heavily skewed—about one part broth to three parts noodles. I've traveled to Tokyo twice and have experienced a variety of Asian cuisines across the U.S. This will be a hard pass for me. If you're looking for authentic and delicious Japanese food, I recommend trying Mr. Max in Irving instead.
