Malai Kitchen - Southlake

I initially believed that this restaurant served Malaysian cuisine, so I checked out the reviews. With over 2000 reviews and a 4.5 rating on Google, we were thrilled for the new experience. The restaurant was bustling when we arrived and we were seated at a table near the door. The atmosphere was pleasant with nice decor, friendly staff, and good music. However, the food did not meet our expectations. We ordered curry and jungle noodle with chicken for our mains, and some fried pepper as appetizers, along with two pots of tea. The curry was disappointing, the noodle was passable, and the appetizer was decent. When our tea was served, we noticed that the cups were not clean. The server returned with wet cups and placed them on the table with an attitude. Our table waitress and the manager were both nice, but the tea server was not friendly. We spent around $70 at the restaurant and do not plan on returning, as the food quality did not live up to our expectations.

Gorgeous ambience and welcoming place. Quality thai vietnamese cuisine food cooked right in the kitchen front of us. Went for the first time and had a fantastic dinner. There were many choices of starters, and entrees in the menu. Wine menu wasgood. There was a complementary sticky rice-egg plant sauce platter as a welcome dish that was awesome. Vegetarian food choiceswere very good, and portion sizes were perfect. Very friendly staff offered good service. Located in prime area in Southlakeand easily accessible with lots of parking.

I really enjoyed this restaurant. The food was delicious, especially the mango sticky rice that I had been craving. The atmosphere indoors was a bit loud for my taste, but it seemed to be part of their vibe, which is okay. The service was quick and the waiters were knowledgeable about the menu. Overall, it could be a great spot for a date.

What you get on the inside blows away what you see on the outside. Gorgeous interior. Well laid out with a great flow. Even the restrooms are uniquely configured--for the good. They have their own brewery. They have an extensive menu. The staff is welltrained and friendly. Then there's the food--so fresh. So tasty. From the sticky rice and eggplant sauce to the spring rolls tothe curry, everything is exceptional. We've found a new favorite!

This restaurant is amazing! There are so many incredible options on the menu that it was hard to choose what to order. As a complimentary starter, they serve sticky rice in a banana leaf. I decided to try the ahi tuna spring rolls (a unique twist on traditional spring rolls), Thai coconut soup (absolutely delicious), pad Thai, and coconut cream pie (unusual but surprisingly tasty). There is even a brewing room located at the back of the restaurant. The service was excellent and the food was wonderful. I look forward to visiting again!
