Very challenging to approach greens, can’t miss in wrong spots! Most holes do not run by eachother which is a cool way to journey through pine needles. Everything feels very old school, which is perfect for tradition of the town/area.
One of the most amazing practice areas in golf. The Loop short course is very challenging. Looking forward to the ladies US Open here.
This is an honest opinion about my experience in Pine Needles Lodge and Golfing all 3 courses. Needles, of course, Mid Pines.. The lodge and the facilities are aged, but it fits into the history of the place. There were updates during our stay ready for the LPGA opened in June. Our room was nice, suitable for our stay, we had a putting green from our back door, so that was nice. The lodge is it itself is OK, you feel somehow like you go in 1975 when you go in. The best part of this place is the staff. Everyone with one exception was great and ready to help in anyway. Sharon and the bar staff are the best notch. I mean so polite, funny, you can say that they love their jobs and work nonstop. I can't remember his name, but the general terrainman was super polite, answered any question we asked and made it a point to check with us whether we needed anything. Thanks, buddy. Really the only reason I didn't give 5 stars was because I was told after my 7pm round, I couldn't eat dinner because the cook had many orders in. As a guest I felt disappointed, but Sharon did it work.... We had great salmon in the night. Also it would have been nice to know, 2 of the 3 courses were only Cart-Pfad. Only would have been nice to know before I spent 2k that I would carry my bag 15 miles to play.... Needles and Mid Pines. on hills, on hills, on slow greens. I was so excited to put these big fast greens. You might have been a 9-10 speed. Courses: South Pines: brilliant visual, new renovations make this place brilliant to see and play harder. Bunkering was incredible and Elevation gave us the 3 D view. Better have a good sand game. Mid Pines: great course and players friendly, but not entirely up to the other 2nd needles: great course, best of the 3, fantastic greens, long holes, fair landing areas. Many elevation and creative recordings make a must. All the greens were super slow while we played due to the time of the year. 24 March 2022. Be also sue the Womens Open scheduled for June, it was Cart-Pfade only on both needles and mid pines courses that suck because you can not get yardages unless you want to go to check for ever and then get clubs so better prepared to go. In everything it is a beautiful place, great staff, fantastic golf and peaceful. Oh and TPC Sawgrass were neither bad the week before. Premo... a 66’ not on 17 for a par. Lol. Shot 98. Stadium Course.. If it is your first time, use a Caddie. Good. Mine was once ranked 7th USA Amateur Golfer. New his stuff.
Pine Needles is absolutely my favorite course in the Sandhills area. No better place to make memories with friends. The number of days (JC) Look at it!
Great track, one of my favorite layouts in the area! Maybe not quite as beautiful as years past, but without stretch bad in any way! Overall, everything was quite good. My only complaint was greens a little slower, then other courses in the area.
