Winchester At Macdonald Botley Park

The breakfast at Fork was outstanding! I stayed here a year ago, and honestly, it was great then too. However, this weekend was one of the best dining experiences we've had at any restaurant. The staff were exceptional, and the chef even shared his secret for making the perfect fried eggs (it really is all in the details!).

I treated my sister to afternoon tea and a spa visit for her birthday. The afternoon was wonderful, and we even took home the cake we couldn't finish.

The food was good, but it was incredibly overpriced—especially the children's meals. Charging £4 for a small piece of garlic bread feels like a rip-off to me. The service was also disappointing. The restaurant was clearly understaffed; we waited ten minutes just to be acknowledged for seating. Our appetizers arrived before our drinks, and they were served so quickly that half of my dish ended up spilling over the table. I feel sorry for the workers who were trying their best, but they couldn't keep up. Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be returning.

The restaurant decoration was tired, the menu was limited and very expensive for what was in the offer, the quality of the food was average, the price of the weine was absolutely exaggerated, the cheapest wein was £33 per bottle, I bought for the same price earlier on the same day 7.5 bottle wein in aldi super market, I still can not reconcile that hotels can calculate (again fee) for wein

The food was very nice albeit a little pricey. Good portion size. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The only niggle would be the the ambience needed some improvement, maybe some background music to help fill the space.
