Abbey's Balti Cuisine - South Tyneside

Ordered meal at 630 via ubereats stated 45-60 mins. Once order went through came up as 8.05 to 8.25... I followed up 835 to be there shortly arrived 9 missing a starter. Rang up again and following the conversation the owner hung up after me being advised 2hrs 30 is acceptable time to wait for a takeaway.

Delivered quickly, hot, ready to go. I tried chicken tikka mushroom meal, and husband went for the ‘new’ Teton chicken tikka. Both meals and sundries great.

I ordered food from this restaurant, and it took an hour and a half to arrive at my home. When it finally arrived, it was only lukewarm at best. I spoke to the staff about the issue, and they assured me that they would make a note of it and ensure that my food is hot next time.

Even though we drove past Abbeys every week, we finally decided to give it a try for the first time. We were tempted by their money off deal, and we were not disappointed. Our food arrived piping hot and ready to eat. We ordered chicken tikka with salad and dressing, as well as the hard-to-pronounce Tetoi, chicken tikka, chips, keema mince naan bread (which was huge and tasty), and rice. Everything was delicious and we even had leftovers for another day.

I used to order from this restaurant years ago, but stopped due to the decline in quality. We typically go to Balti Masters, but decided to try something new. Unfortunately, the food was even worse than before. The curry was tasteless and when I called to complain, the person I spoke to had a bad attitude. I have no intention of returning. They need to improve their customer service and food quality. Please avoid this place.
