Himley Country - South Staffordshire

Down in stourbridge for the day on a budget, stayed the night, dinner and breakfast. everyone was very friendly and helpful. their Covid procedures were well explained and easy to follow. beautiful atmosphere, we felt very comfortable with everything, and nothing was a problem. for alexandra our waitress. thanks to all the others who made us welcome during our Art stay.

My daughter arranged for us to stay here one night while we supported her home moving; apparently she had read some reviews and had considered. we checked in blind, and my oh my, what a shock. with hindsight, I can only speak a lot of previous...reviews; concerning our experience; in the parking lot your car will be broken in for starter. the strange no id no check-in cache no toilets of the recipe man could not have been less interested when we check in, and from 10 minutes later). I got the impression that he knew we weren't staying when he searched the keys behind the writing table before he finally chose the scrub that room 127 is. low lights of 127 included, no head part and gott white only what at the walls, especially at the head cushion end of the bette! no refreshments exfoliation wallpaper, dirty carpets, throw on the floor, used candles on the bathroom, layers of damaged seal around the bathroom, dirty toilet etc. etc. I could continue; in any case, we were not there! no highlights! back to the reception where the man disappeared! other random men found him, in an extremely short conversation we said that the room was appalling; he said he would sort a refund with Booking.com, that was all she wrote! No offer of a better space, only he would sort it! Luckily we could again eat the daughters new house for food and then drive home, it spoiled a planned night; and our daughter was really upset! as soon as we showed her the pictures we had made, she was understandable. so to be accurate, this place is a dump, and since other reviews only exist for dodgy purposes or is a deposit hostel, or services (illegal) migrants; something that is not right, clearly “right” guests are not part of the business plan. continue to ask with the device itself; what is on earth booking. com playing with even entertaining adverts. Booking.com; Man on, visit these cess pits and fall them, and what exactly do the regulatory and local authorities control with those we pay them? this place is grim, unhygienic and careless, and unless these features are an essential part of this sector, then this place should be closed and the owners book! finally to Booking.com; a second “man up”; no right minded person would remain willing in the room we were offered so stop jerking my daughter around and sorting her back; £40 strange is to blame what was

Visited here with my mother and youth with a afternoon tea group voucher it was good for what I had paid, we had sandwiches and cakes with unlimited tee and coffee, I really enjoyed it beautiful and peacefully sat in the vicinity of the kitchen beautiful features where we were. I would go back with the voucher system, but I'm not sure I would pay the full price. when we arrived, there were some maintenance work, so it was good to see that they work on the advance of the place and when it was the owner I saw that he was a nice friendly man, so thank you for a great afternoon tee xx

I visited a night with my nakedby, worst place I was too. 4 different rooms have been shown and they are not better than the previous.

Hotel prepped for Covid rules which we understood. However this venue was dirty from the recption onwards. However the sticker on the screen in reception read no photo ID no room was rather hostile bizarre. Despite this sign we were not asked for...ID. This hotel had the look of a half-way house or hostel. Certainly from the few people we saw late evening i was glad our visit was short. The person on reception had poor interaction with us in the few minutes he deigned to speak with us. The decor was dated no work since the 70's 80's at seems. However we could have overlooked this if it been maintained or been clean. Our initial room a standard double not what we ordered was filthy, the carpet, the furniture, the bathroom bedding eeything was crawling with ground in dirt, damp, stains or dead flies or cobwebs. On returning to reception to confirm they had offered us the room we had booked we were told these were all sold out. No apology or explanation. To be fair the difference in price was £3. The non deluxe room we ended up with was a small improvement. but this is not to say the room was much better. The bedding at least appeared clean. The bathroom was awful the shower did not work, the taps were hard to turn. We didn't have any hot water during our visit when we did it as off site. The overall impression was grubby unsavoury. We went out for the evening but didn't change at the hotel, we did so at our friend's house. Likewise we did not shower as this was out of order the the facilities are less than sanitary! We were contacted by Booking.com to say we had not arrived checked in at the hotel. Suspect this either so we don't write a review, as if we haven't stayed, not sure we will investigate this further. There was no one in reception as we left. We just wanted to get out asap. Please stay elsewhere. It needs a lot of work doing deep cleaning. It is not safe during COVID, we have felt ill since our return.
