Tomato Pie Pizza Joint - South Pasadena

As a New Yorker living in LA, I'm always on the hunt for good NYC-style pizza. Here it is! Tomato Pie Pizza Joint in South Pasadena is amazing! We have a Pepperoni, Mac n Cheese and Syrakus Hot Wing Disc! All we are delicious and I can confirm that are definitely NYC status for pizza! The people who work there are very nice and I will definitely come back! This place locked me up!

I would say that this place is more like a 4.3 maybe a 4.4. I come to pizza so often and the pizzas are usually decent, you know? I mean, it's not the thin bounced thin style I sometimes like to eat, but it's more like the style I had when I was a kid. You have a few tables in the back where you can eat when you feel so inclined; I want to go there towards dawn when the heat is down and the sun doesn't seem so bright. The only real problem I have with this place is the wings. I don't know what they're doing with them, but I'll just say it, and that's the way I see it; that they're fat and there's little to no crust on the chicken itself. Let me explain, it's like they're microwning the wings. Maybe they're not, but I've eaten her wings several times, and they're always... well, there's a deep foamy coat on it, but it's soggy, not in any way. I do not understand whether they actually make them fresh, or they actually cook them as they get so that it leaves microwebs. As I said, I don't know they're making microwaves, but let's just say I don't recommend the wings. Staff are what you would expect in a place like this, you know, not rude, they just want to get your order to you. Eat there, the pizza is good, thick crusted, salty meat and the tables have to use choke napkins on the tables. Try the wings also if only for your own conclusions.

Very funny and friendly staff!!! Clean atmosphere, clean facilities. SPECTACULAR, Of course we had traditional pepperoni, and one with broccoli, which actually super delicious!!!! Back to the piece with broccoli it was so scrumbling! I comment on how clean a restaurant is because obviously what is happening at the moment. I placed my mask wrong and they were generous enough to give me a new one!!

Great pizza. I have the butcher pizza. Really good. But pricier than your average pizza place, but I think it's worth it. I have the hot wings, but these were the woes. Overall great pizza pies, but you can skip the pages. Street parking and a small lot on the side.

Simply the most delicious pizza around! My husband and I, are always looking for a pizza that remind us of New York's pizza and we finally found a spot that surpassed anything we've ever had! You must MUST try the Macaroni Cheese Pizza: it's my favorite! Ps. They have great customer service which made this experience even better!
