Russo's New York Pizzeria South Padre Island

We never expected to find ourselves at a pizza restaurant during our time in SPI, especially since we were primarily searching for seafood. However, after experiencing long wait times at other places, it felt like we were led here—and we were not disappointed! The food was incredible, and our waitress Ayla was wonderfully sweet. She had extensive knowledge of the menu and was very helpful. Everything was delicious and perfectly seasoned! We also discovered that they serve massive pizzas, which I thought was really impressive. Plus, the view of the sunset was fantastic!

I came from Boston and tried three local restaurants in a row. It was tough to choose between them, but after a fair comparison, this place emerged as the clear winner. Three of us sampled the pizza here, and we rated it a solid 7.2 out of 10. We're pretty picky when it comes to pizza, but this is by far the best on the island after an honest and thorough assessment. The sauce was excellent, the dough and crust were decent, and the cheese was good too. It's cooked in a brick oven, which made a noticeable difference, and the staff was fantastic. Overall, this restaurant was our top pick for the best pizza in South Padre.

The service here is quick and friendly. However, on a Saturday evening, the restaurant was quiet with plenty of available seats. Unfortunately, the iced tea was quite disappointing, leaving me quite frustrated. As for the pizza, it can only be described as bland; the sauce was nearly nonexistent and what little there was tasted murky. Additionally, the toppings weren't cooked properly. I also ordered a sandwich, but it turned out to be mostly bread, which I regretted. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this place.

Where should I start? The wings were super delicious! They had a really good deep fried crust and the buffalo sauce was lip service. Only the five had, but when they told Jumbo, I was sceptical. Unfortunately, our hunger took our brains and we reacted lately to a picture. I wouldn't skip the wings as an app! And to complete the pizza, we got the truffles Burrata and Prosciutto. Wanted to try a signature pizza from there and not disappointed! The service was great! The server was very attentive and fast with our food!

The ambiance, the decor is top notch. The food is phenomenal, especially if you are looking for New York style pizza. They use fresh ingredients. Our server Nadia was phenomenal, professional and courteous. Even manager came over to check on us. They care for their customers. Definitely recommend everyone if you are in town.
