Difficult to assess the atmosphere of a pub when you 're about the only customer over three pints. But it had good looks. A small, clean, but not over-immaculate pub--it felt just right. Low ceilings, like a barge. A secret garden on two levels, with covered areas, boxed in behind houses. Red kites circling overhead. Pleasant barmaid. Henley reminds me of a seaside resort in that the pubs are choc-a-bloc along the front . But the Row Barge sits well back in a quiet street, and I escaped the manic vibe there.
