I ordered a large meal for my family over the phone and arranged for pick-up. When I arrived to collect the meal, I was informed that only cash or payment over the phone were accepted, neither of which I could do. Previously, we had always paid by credit card when ordering from this takeout restaurant. I had to go get cash to pay and ended up spending almost £60 on a cold meal. There was no offer of a discount, despite my obvious frustration. It would have been helpful if they had informed us of their payment policy when we placed the order over the phone. This experience was ridiculous and we will not be using them again.
The House Special Chow Mein was disappointing, with overly salty stir-fried noodles and tough Char Sui pork. The beef curry was average at best, but the king prawn curry had a watery sauce that needed to be drained before eating. While the portion size was generous, the overall quality of the food has declined over the years. Unfortunately, the prices have continued to increase as well. This Chinese take away is no longer a recommended option for a Chinese meal.
Curry sauce was so bland it was just a brown coloured sauce, the chilli combo had never seen a chilli and was just scraps, fried and covered in salt. binned 50% of my meal.
Been using this takeaway for a while and had no problems until tonight. Went in and ordered two meals, one of which was, when the young man brought it out and read out the order slip to me, not what I ordered (sweet sour king prawn I had ordered Cantonese king prawn). Young chap politely told the young lady on the till, who had taken the order, that it was wrong; but instead of dealing with this in a calm and professional manner she proceeded to throw what can only be described as a 'tantrum ' and started shouting at the young man (I rather got the impression they were brother and sister, I 've never seen either of them here before). She then slapped the bag on the counter, removed the contents, waved the boxes around and told me, in a similarly raised and unpleasant tone, that THIS box was the dish I 'd ordered Cantonese king prawn. We got home, and it wasn 't it was the sweet sour the young man had said it was. Quite the most appallingly rude and inappropriate service I can ever remember experiencing in any restaurant or food outlet anywhere. The young lady in question needs to ask herself if she wouldn 't be better employed doing something in keeping with her ' you ' attitude. Like a traffic warden.
