I do not like writing bad reviews, but I hope this will help the new owners not make the same mistake again. Simply, there was hardly anyone in for food and yet it still took over an hour for our food to finally come. If we was told this at the start we could have decided to go elsewhere. However, even after 50 minutes wait, the waitress said it would only be another 5 minutes. My wife is diabetic and luckily she did not take her insulin, as 5 minutes ended up being 15/20 minutes. Whilst we appreciate a lot of restaurants are having issues in the present climate, honesty is still the best policy. I hope the owners take this constructive review on board to help them go forward.
I ordered a pint of real ale and fish and chips but was very disappointed with a few aspects. The size of portion was quite small for all 3 items of the fish, chips and peas. Also the price of £16.25 just for the meal was ridiculous for the portion size. The quality was similar to any High Street fish and chip shop and I felt totally ripped off. Having said this the 2 young ladies serving food and drinks were both pleasant and couldn't be faulted and the pint of ale was good. Why can't pubs price their food more sensibly and stop profiteering so much or at least provide a larger and better quality meal? I certainly wouldn't eat here again.
Wow! There are a number of pub grub places in Kendal, this is stunningly good. Wobbly Bob pie is to die for! The young ladies behind the bar are friendly and exceptionally professional with customers
This is a great place to stay and eat in Kendal. Rooms are lovely and the staff are all fab. Both evening meal and breakfast were an absolute delight.
