Contribuiți la feedbackNice food friendly staff and very helpful cafe staff and shop staff and a lot of people on here saying food is not cheap every where in the lakes is over priced
We stopped by for breakfast this morning and were disappointed to find that the only options available were sausage or bacon baps. My husband and I both decided on the sausage baps, but unfortunately, they were the worst sausage sandwiches we've ever had. The sausages tasted like they had been microwaved and then deep fried, resulting in a greasy and chewy texture instead of being crispy. The coffee also left much to be desired and took about 10 minutes to prepare. Overall, we were quite disappointed with our experience.
I understand it’s winter season and cafes and shops in Hawkshead are quite but it’s no excuse for both members of staff to sit and eat lunch at 1pm in the afternoon while customers are waiting. A young member of the team served us at the till and made the drinks, training is highly recommend in your staff. If naturally Hawkshead intend to charge there customers £3.25 for a flat white please ensure your staff are trained. I myself are barista trained and work in hospitality and can understand the pressure of making a flat white but I had to ask for it to be remade 3 times. In the end I poured my own milk in. As a resident in the village I won’t be coming back!
Naturally Hawkshead is fantastic. The food and staff are excellent, especially Patricia, who always greets us warmly.
We recently visited the cafe whilst shopping in hawkshead. The cafe was closed when we initially got there and had a sign saying it would reopen at 1.40. Several people walked out not wishing to wait. When 1.40 came the cafe did not open but one member of staff started cleaning the tables/chairs etc. We finally got seated at 1.50. We ordered 2 soup and a child’s baked beans on toast. Other customers followed us in and all received their food before us despite us being the first to order. Our food finally arrived at 2.35! The ‘soup’ was warm and looked like a tin of tomatoes has been blended! The staff were very sullen and disinterested and it was very evident they did not want to be there! In the current economic climate we thought businesses would be appreciative of people’s custom! We shall not be eating there again
