I would not recommend the chicken salad sandwich unless you like it heavily drenched in mayo. Also, be sure to watch them carefully if you do not want Ortega chiles added to your meal. I have repeatedly asked them to start carrying milk for breakfast, but they have not done so for over a year for some reason. I am tired of giving this place chances and wasting my time there, even though the staff is very nice. I cannot keep going there on my morning break only to have my order messed up again.
I have been visiting this deli sandwich shop for 21 years and it is truly the best in South Lake Tahoe. Recently, it was sold to a new owner named Luke who has brought new life to this established Tahoe Deli. The food is even better than before, with new combos available on the menu like sandwich, chips, and a soda. If you are in Tahoe, be sure to stop by and try this local favorite.
I tried the pastrami and the Reuben sandwiches. The Reuben was just okay, but the pastrami was possibly the best sandwich I've had in Tahoe. I recommend getting the large size for only $2 extra, as it's definitely worth it - you'll have enough for at least 2 meals. A helpful tip: surprise your wife with some brownies added to your order for a special treat.
One of the better Reubens I've had, stopped in for a quick lunch and got a pleasant meal.
Small deli in a strip mall that has BOMB sandwiches! My husband and I were starving and ordered two meatball subs. Staff was friendly, service was not super speedy, but we didn’t mind waiting for something fresh. The sandwiches did not disappoint. Perfect ratio of bread to meat to sauce to cheese. Yum, yum, yum!
