Contribuiți la feedbackWe had booked in advance as it was the only pub in the area with available reservations. We opted for the Sunday carvery, as advertised outside the pub. The restaurant felt more like a works canteen than a cozy dining atmosphere. The cutlery was dirty, all the meat was incredibly dry and tough to chew. The cauliflower cheese was hard and the cheese sauce was watery. The stuffing balls were tiny and rock hard. When the waitress asked if we wanted dessert, we ordered lemon meringue, but were told they only had chocolate fudge cake. We agreed to have the fudge cake instead. It was served cold and in a small portion, accompanied by a small scoop of cheap ice cream. When I mentioned our disappointment to the waitress, she simply told me to go to the till to pay the bill. I requested to speak to the manager, who was rude and dismissive. When I pointed out that the desserts should have been included in the carvery as part of the course meal, she denied ever offering courses and walked away. I am considering reporting them to trading standards for false advertising, as the board outside clearly advertised a course Sunday lunch.
Went in for a drink and had forms of Id and didn’t get served , will not be going again it’s a public imbarisant
Just had Sunday roast lunch for two, service very good with attentive staff. We had lovely tender beef and melt in the mouth pork roasts, accompanied by yorkies, hot gravy, crackling, veg and potatoes served at table. Ambiance was good, great to see...regulars diners returning to this popular destination. All necessary virus protection in place, making for a safe place to enjoy great food.
Poor customer service, charged for using a high chair which was never told beforehand, like eating in a school canteen all food just warmed up in the microwave! Really need to learn about how to speak to their customers and create a decent atmosphere if...they want people to actually return!
Took my family for Sunday roast today, our first and last visit here. There was no atmosphere to the place. Roast was plentiful and good selection of vegetables. We had an month old baby with us so asked for a high chair for him...and was charged Desserts were each, a bit excessive I feel, especially when one was just a bowl of custard for a year old.
