Contribuiți la feedbackI had a Christmas dinner with my colleagues at this restaurant. The location is unique, situated under the railway bridge in South Brisbane. The bar and restaurant have been transformed into an urban oasis with plenty of lush greenery. The food made us feel like we were dining at a luxurious hotel in Thailand. I was impressed by the vegan options on the menu, as well as other dietary restrictions like gluten-free and pescatarian. The staff were courteous and helpful, and our group of 6 ordered the banquet. While others shared meat or fish dishes, I had my own separate vegan version for each course. The employees explained each dish thoroughly and the food was delicious with a variety of flavors and textures. The banquet included salt and pepper tofu, pumpkin with black bean sauce and native plums, Shitake mushroom dumplings, cucumber salad, BBQ cabbage, silk tofu with exotic mushrooms, and fried rice. It was a generous amount of food and I was almost full by the end. We were able to take leftovers home and enjoyed them for lunch the next day. Overall, it was a great experience, although on the pricey side. I would recommend it for a special occasion.
I went to this restaurant for a Christmas dinner with my coworkers. The location is really cool, it's tucked away under the railway bridge in South Brisbane. The bar and restaurant have been transformed into an urban oasis with lots of greenery. Dining here felt like being on vacation at a luxurious hotel in Thailand or something similar (which is the closest I'll get to an overseas holiday for a while). I had contacted Southside ahead of time when my coworkers were looking for a venue, and they sent me a menu with dietary options labeled (such as vegan, gluten-free, pescatarian, etc.). The staff on the night were very accommodating and helpful, our group of 6 ordered the banquet. It consisted of share plates, and while the others shared meat or fish dishes, I had my own separate portion with vegan versions for each course. The staff explained each dish they brought out and were very knowledgeable. The food was delicious overall, with a variety of interesting flavors and textures. The banquet included: salt pepper tofu, pumpkin with black bean sauce and native plum, shiitake mushroom dumplings, cucumber salad, BBQ cabbage, silken tofu with exotic mushrooms, and fried rice. There was a lot of food, and I found myself almost full by the appetizers. We were able to take the leftovers home and had them for lunch the next day. It was a really enjoyable experience, although it is on the expensive side so not somewhere I would visit regularly. But it's a great spot for a special occasion.
I recently had a Christmas dinner at this restaurant with my coworkers. The location is very unique, tucked away under a railway bridge in South Brisbane. The bar and restaurant have been transformed into an urban oasis with lots of lush greenery. Dining here felt like being on vacation at a luxurious hotel in Thailand. When I made the reservation, the staff sent me a menu with vegan, gluten-free, and pescatarian options highlighted. The servers were very helpful and accommodating, ensuring that I had my own separate dishes while others shared meat and fish dishes. The staff explained each dish as it was brought out and the food was delicious with a variety of interesting flavors and textures. The banquet included salt pepper tofu, pumpkin with black bean sauce, shiitake mushroom dumplings, cucumber salad, BBQ cauliflower, silk tofu with exotic mushrooms, and roasted rice. There was a large amount of food and I ended up getting full quite quickly, but we were able to take the leftovers home for lunch the next day. Overall, it was a great experience, though on the expensive side for me. I would definitely recommend this place for a special occasion.
We went into this restaurant with very high hopes that it would be a top-notch establishment, possibly even deserving of a five-star rating despite not being entirely vegan. While the food was good overall, it didn't quite meet our lofty expectations. Some parts were delicious... in fact, the standout dish turned out to be one that wasn't clearly labeled as vegan, but our waiter suggested it and it was fantastic (soup dumplings). The location is beautiful, despite being situated directly underneath a rail line.
