Shangri-la Buffet - South Boston

This place looks closed, and it's hard to tell from the outside what it is. The only reason we ate there is because a friend told us about it. Poor selection of mediocre Chinese food. It's too expensive for what it is. $14 for an adult buffet and almost $3 per beverage. We spent over $60 for 2 adults and 2 kids. Bathrooms were dirty. I gave it the 2nd star because the waitress was nice and I left full, but it will be a while before we try again. I had a wonderful experience with takeout for dinner. The food was excellent, and I genuinely enjoyed every bite. The price was quite reasonable, ranging from $1 to $10 per person. Food rating: 5/5 Service rating: 5/5 Atmosphere rating: 5/5 I highly recommend trying the Crab Onion and Cheese as well as the Sesame Chicken with Fried Rice. Both dishes were simply outstanding!

I had a frustrating experience with their delivery service. They canceled my orders without any explanation. After one cancellation, I decided to give them another chance, ordering through the qMenu app. This time, my order was placed and confirmed, and the driver even arrived to pick it up. However, I was then informed that the order had been canceled because they didn't have hibachi available that day. If they're unable to offer certain services, they shouldn't be advertising them. The qMenu app doesn't provide any restrictions or hours, which makes this even more disappointing. Overall, I would rate the delivery service a 1.

Food was great. I only wish they added either Kimchi or kimchee sauce cucumber salad to the salad bar section, and it would be near ideal for my slightly unusual (for this area) palate. Only real complaint was being sat too near a family of rude, morbidly obese hillbillies who had to be asked not to change their child 's diaper at the table. Yes. Really. Building is in need of repair on the outside from apparent vandalism, but you can 't fault the owners for the actions of customers or people with a twisted sense of 'entertainment.
