Chester Tavern - South Bend

Instead of a dry, yet polite older lady working, the service was mediocre. I had heard that the burgers were good at Pitchwood, but they were just okay. Despite having the best burger, the service was the worst.

We were on our way to Long Beach to enjoy some excellent oysters.

We absolutely loved the perfectly-prepared deep fried oysters at this little local spot. The waterfront location was fantastic, and the small, simple ambiance added to the charm of the place.

The worst fish and chips I ever bought and all you get is 2 small finger food pieces of fish with cheap fries for 16+ bucks per plate! On top of that it was inedible! If I would have looked at it before I paid I would have left it on the counter. The only people that can possibly eat and pay for this slop is locals, I feel sorry for them.

The best oysters I have ever had, hands down! I've had oysters before, I'm not the biggest fan... I don't hate em, but I don't love em either.This time though, Chester's oyster was so delicious! I cannot explain why but I will try my best. They were big, they're not slimy as I thought oysters would be, and they taste so fresh!I tried the fried version and the fresh... Surprisingly, the fresh was actually a winner this time. I mean they're both very good. So glad we stopped by. The lady who waited on us and made our food was very nice. We loved our short stop meal.We will definitely be back when we visit the area one day.
