Rickie's Indian - South Barre

I had high hopes for this restaurant based on the reviews I read, but unfortunately, I was let down. Having enjoyed exceptional Indian food in the Sacramento area for years, my expectations were set quite high. The rice here was excellent, but the butter chicken, while flavorful, was more soupy than it should have been. The chicken curry was decent as well, but once again, it had a runny consistency. The soupy texture made it difficult to enjoy with naan, which was okay but not outstanding. I realize that there are limited options in Vermont, and with a few adjustments, this place could easily earn a solid five stars.

I'm happy to report that they are still serving delicious Indian cuisine. Be sure to call ahead to confirm they're open that day.

The food and service here are outstanding, truly deserving of five stars! The flavors are authentic and exactly how Indian cuisine should be enjoyed. While the decor isn't bad, there’s definitely room for improvement. Overall, it’s a great place to dine. It's not fancy, but it's clean and straightforward. I recommend giving it a try!

10/10! This place has the best butter chicken, aloo matar, and lamb curry! The sauces are deliciously savory and spicy, paired perfectly with fluffy rice and incredibly tender meat. It's truly amazing authentic cuisine. Everything is just perfect!
