Viansa Sonoma Winery Tasting Room

If you want a great wine tasting experience for a large group VIANSA is the place to go. We had a group of 18 during Labor Day weekend and most wineries would not accommodate us even with three months notice. Fortunately Hardt of the Valley Tours suggested VIANSA.Not only did Viansa say yes, they made us feel right at home with our own private patio and a self pour tasting. That meant instead of having a splash of this and a splash of that our guest were free to sample the wines they liked and refill their glass as much as they wanted with the wine they liked. We ordered nine bottles andIt was the best tasting we have ever experienced .Our hostess had our wines ready upon arrival along with the some of the best Charcuterie boards ever which paired perfectly with the wines. All the wines were good but for me the Zin stood out and was my absolute favorite of the trip. The Viansa Rose was very popular with the rest of the group since it was a hot day. Fresh brick oven pizzas were scrumptious and ready very quickly (15 minutes for six pizzas). Friendly atmosphere, nice view, good wine , good food , all in all a perfect score.

Horrible handling of red wine. We were at Viansa yesterday when the temp went over 90 deg. They had their red wine sitting on a table outside in the 90 deg temp. I asked the cashier how they could keep the wine in 90 deg temp and then even serve it? Her response was it 's under an umbrella . I guess Viansa doesn 't know that red wine should be stored and served chilled not 90 deg. I asked for the cashier 's manager and he was behind her and said nothing. I asked him about storing the wine in 90 deg temp. His response was I could go and buy the red wine inside. I told him I have no confidence in this winery to store their wine. 90 minutes later the wine was still on the table in 90 deg weather. They couldn 't be bothered to put the red wine in ice. Not sure if this winery is lazy or incompetent or both?? Lazy rookies. I would not recommend buying wine from this winery to cellar at home after being stored in 90 deg temp.

Beautiful place with viewing patio overlooking vineyard. We arrived at 2:00 pm on a Monday with hardly anyone there and the employees were only talking to each other. We were told we could only buy a glass or bottle with no wine tasting because we didn’t have reservations. Seems like they could have fit in walk-ins when the employees were doing very little. We are active wine-club members at other vineyards, so they missed a huge sale opportunity.

I’m not usually a fan of the bigger wineries but Viansa hit every mark! I love that not only they take excellent care of their members, they do the same for walk in experiences! The second time I came, was for my Birthday celebration with 4 fabulous girlfriends. I have visited wineries all over the World and not only is the wine some of the best but their entire team is excellent! Not only was I more then remembered by the staff, our group spent extra time with the GM, served by the Lead Wine Host and got a surprise visit by my previous server who came into work on her day off just to say Happy Birthday! Thank you Chris, Len, Kat and your entire team! We will be back!

Amazing tasting experience paired with an excellent service, wine and food. Fully recommended for couples or family events! My fav was the Pinot Noir
