Frick Winery - Sonoma County

I'm glad this was one of the wineries we made a reservation with. It's very small, 7.7 acres, and pretty much a one man show. He only takes 4 people at a time for tastings. The love he has for what he does was apparent. There were 4 reds for us to try and each was pretty unique. I had one shipped home that I can't wait to have with a steak. It was well worth the drive to visit.

We wanted to try a new winery on this recent trip to Santa Rosa. The owner Bill seemed knowledgeable and we appreciated the laid back wine tasting experience. The premises is lovely and tasting looks out the beautiful vineyard slopes. First week of September was a great time to visit since they are still waiting for a few weeks to harvest this year so the vines are lush with grapes, ready to be picked. The tasting itself however was a bit disappointing, the pours were insubstantial and not quite enough to taste all the notes and we weren't fans of the Rhone varieties that he specializes in.

Such a lovely winery with unique offerings had to go home with a bottle of Syrah, excellent taste. The free tasting was extensive and greatly appreciated.

Great winery. Tasting is free, and wine bottles are just $29!!! Very unique wines, not found in other wineries. A must visit!

Six of us called for an appointment which are 30 minutes long. Since we had six of us he graciously agreed to an hour. The winemaker Bill Frick serves small tastes of his unique Rhone varietals. There’s a rose, cinsault, carignane and blends. All unusual and fun. The wines are all $29! The setting is beautiful in the fall. And everything happens on a modest 7.77 acres. It’s very casual and unpretentious. We recommend it.
