Taco Party - Somerville

This is a fantastic spot for vegan cuisine. I absolutely love the jackfruit tacos! The service is excellent, and the food is delicious. It's a wonderful healthy alternative to savor!

I used to claim that this was the best vegan taco joint in the country (having travelled extensively). With the removal of the Chimichurri Tempeh taco from the menu, I downgrade my claim to second best with t/aco in Boulder, CO pulling into first place. Taco Party's replacement, the Soy Curl Fahita taco pales in comparison.

It looks like this place has closed their doors. I really wanted to like this place since it 's the only punk-rock vegan spot in town, but I tried to leave criticism here before and instead of listening to what I said, they gave me attitude about it the next time I came in and never changed a thing. Well, I 'm going to give you an honest review and you can listen if you want or get hurt about it, whatever. In almost ten years we 've seen only one addition to the menu: the breakfast taco. Nothing here is terribly healthy and all the tacos are weird. They don 't have hard tacos, they don 't have burritos, fajitas, taco bowls, or enchiladas. I get it, they 're trying to be different and 'kitschy ' but if that 's what you 're going to do, then do that to a fault. They have tortas which are good, but kind of an indistinct menu item that not many would know what it is. People might think it 's a cake. And it sounds familiar enough that they might be afraid to ask what it is. If you want to get weird, serve a vegan chivito.

I had high hopes for this place, but unfortunately the food wasn’t that great. Went in today around 3ish. Ordered the crispy taco. It was totally flavorless and needed salt. I drenched it in the green hot sauce on the table so it had more taste. The lentil taco was good. I enjoyed this one. Now the tempeh taco….ive had tempeh before many places and at home, but this tempeh was foul. The taste and flavor was unbearable. I have a feeling it was spoiled. It was just totally off. Now the nachos…the cheese on it was cold. The entire nacho plate was overall just cold and not tasty at all. I need to discuss the water cups. I got a water and it was given to me in this red cup with no straw. No straw is fine. No big deal. but yall the rim of cup had this white crusty stuff that I could scrape off with my nail. There’s no way I’m drinking out of that lol Have you ever gone somewhere to eat and felt like you wasted money going there. That’s what this felt like. Hopefully this was an isolated event and others have a better experience.

Food was super delicious. Great vegan food. Simple and tasty.
