Diesel Cafe - Somerville

This restaurant is a better option for studying or working rather than for enjoying food or coffee. It's decent, but not amazing. If you dislike loud music in other coffee shops, I would suggest trying this place as the noise level here is moderate and not disruptive.

I have been coming to Diesel for years and really love this place. They completed a major renovation at the beginning of the pandemic and it is now more spacious and well designed. The staff is amazing, the energy relaxed and welcoming. While times it can be busy, it is a great place to work, read a book and hang out. The food is delicious. Their freshly made bread and pastry comes from their sister store Forge down the street. Eating their pumpkin loaf makes me about as happy as any other food on the planet. I am a big fan of the Joplin on an everything bagel with bacon and avocado (the maple butter is everything) and the Elm on sourdough with avocado.

The sandwiches at this place are amazing, made with fresh ingredients. The ambience is perfect for getting work done on your laptop or meeting up for a lunch or coffee date.

This restaurant is a great spot to relax. It has a spacious layout with plenty of seating available. The matcha latte was pretty good, not as good as Ogawa's, but still enjoyable. I appreciate that they don't charge extra for milk substitutes. You can place your order at the screen and wait for your name to be called.

Service is sooooooo slow. 40 minutes for JUST a latte at 1pm. Food is pretty good but very overpriced. WiFi is free but limited to I think 2 hours
