The Muscoot Tavern - Somers

I recently visited Muscoot Tavern after a birdwatching walk along the Muscoot Dam area, where I got caught in a sudden cold rain. I found the tavern to have a cozy atmosphere with a warming propane heater. I sat at a table near the heater and enjoyed a glass of Riesling while waiting for my seafood Fra Diavolo. The meal was delicious and satisfying, though I personally would have liked a bit more spice in the sauce. I cleaned my plate because it was so tasty. Overall, I had a great lunch experience at Muscoot Tavern.

This restaurant is a charming and nostalgic place with great food and service. The funny signs, old photos, wall paintings, and rustic wooden floors add to the atmosphere. We chose to sit outside under the tent on a summer day that looked like it might rain. There are also indoor seats available, as well as many tables not under a tent. Our group of four tried the caprese salad, casino mussels, rib eye steak, lobster salad, fish and chips, and turkey burger. Despite our different tastes, we all agreed that everything was delicious, and the service was excellent. We will definitely return to this restaurant in the future!
