Great. Go. Great view on Monts du Velay. Great food with flowers. Great organic wine. Great service. I recommand the Verveine at the end of the dinner.

Deep in the countryside and not the sort of place you 'd normally pass en route but make the effort to get there somehow. Arriving at 11.30am for a pre lunch walk, the village was deserted: finishing the walk at 12.15pm all available parking spaces were taken by prospective diners. The village is attractive and the panoramic views from the dining room are magical. A friendly welcome was followed by three hours or so of a wonderful culinary experience. I was treated to the Promenade de Pinatou tasting menu which consisted of 10 deliciously inventive courses. I thought that I didn 't like oysters, fish or 'pied de cochon ', but found myself eating and enjoying these. Service was friendly, paced and professional. Although I was being treated to lunch, I did catch sight of the price for this menu €54 for 10 courses unbelievable!. We concluded with a chat with the engaging chef/owner. The restaurant is surely destined for greater renown. Go now whilst you can (hopefully) secure a booking at these prices.

With a menu of 18 euros this is a real bargain entree, main course, cheese, desert and coffee. The owners are welcoming and charming and the simple yet delicious french food is really great. Inside it is cosy with a huge working fireplace in winter, and in summer a gorgeous balcony looking right down the loire valley. This is a real little gem and very highly recommended.
