We spent our Saturday night at Hungry Pelican, alias Della Terra last night. What a wonderful meal! Seven (7) courses, so better bring your appetite. Cody and his team did a wonderful job with every court. From starter (Mushrooms and Goat Cheese on Toast) to beet salad, mussels, gnocchi, lamb, beef and finale (dessert); Cheese cake with apple layer and sooo flakes). Paired with three wines that all went wonderfully well with the dishes. It is very difficult to choose a favorite from the evening, so I won't. Special mention of the Gnocchi, which was for me one of the best I ever had (and this includes Gnocchi from Italy, France and several Seattle spots). If you think froufrou meal, don't. Yes, there is a lot of effort in the presentation of each record, sure. It is however the essence of “farm to table”, which is the focus. Fresh, lively ingredients. So much effort in procurement, preparation, next to the presentation. I'm looking forward to our next stop at Della Terra, I'm sure it will be another unforgettable meal.
During our previous visits to Hungry Pelican for other events, we decided to try their Friday dinner. We were pleasantly surprised! The food was possibly the best I've had in the charming town of Snohomish. It truly felt like a wonderful gift for us!
I have to mention that when we arrived for our reservation, we found a closed sign on the door. It appeared that the restaurant was hosting a private party. We attempted to call the listed number, but there was no answer. Additionally, the sign on the door didn’t mention Della Terra. As a result, we ended up dining at another place, which was quite disappointing. I'm not sure what's going on with Della Terra, but I would like to give it a shot. Unfortunately, we couldn’t confirm anything since we thought the restaurant was closed.
I have to mention that when we arrived for our reservation, there was a "closed" sign on the door. It appeared that a private party was taking place inside. We attempted to call the contact number, but no one answered. The sign on the door didn't even mention Della Terra, so we ended up going somewhere else for dinner, which turned out to be disappointing. I'm not sure what the situation is with Della Terra, but I would love to give it a try. Unfortunately, I couldn't confirm anything since we thought the restaurant was closed.
