Insignia Prime Steak Sushi - Smithtown

My and my husband went here for our 5 year anniversary. Overall we had a really great night. The service and experience really is impeccable. Thank you to Vincent and Sean for making our night special. To me the apps stole the show. We got the bacon and kani salad. One of the best kani salads I have ever had. Getting the bacon cooked tableside was a very cool experience and it really was delicious. We got the Australian waygu tomahawk which they cut tableside with a samurai sword which was again a very cool experience but the steak was just good. Maybe I feel that way because I can cook a really good steak so it didn't stick out to me as out of this world or anything. I think next time I would get filet or sushi. The sides were also just good. I would say a lot of the money you are spending is going to the service you are receiving and the experience. I had a reservation for 7 PM and had to wait 29 minutes for my table. When I did get a table it was so close to the bar and the bar was crowded, people standing at the bar were right next to my seat and occasionally bumped into my head while I was eating. This made my dinner terribly uncomfortable. The only real good thing I have to say is that our waiter, Rubens, was extremely good. He was very helpful with specials and recommendations and very attentive. Great waiter. Terrible table which really ruined our dinner. Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 2
