Pizza Express Slough

My family of four, including two boys aged 7 and 5, recently visited this restaurant. We were warmly welcomed and seated with Halloween-themed coloring activities, crayons, and hats. The service was prompt and friendly, despite the surprisingly quiet atmosphere for an early Saturday evening between 5 and 6pm. The restaurant had only a few other occupied tables. The staff had put in a great effort for Halloween, providing a bowl of sweets for the kids to enjoy and beautifully carved pumpkins on display. The staff checked on us multiple times throughout the meal, which was appreciated. The food met the quality standards that I have come to expect from Pizza Express, which I find to be quite decent.

Blonde front of house has the worst customer service I’ve ever seen. Threw our menus down on the table and walked off before we’d even sat down. When we were finished she asked if we were done and after us saying yes, she walked off to go talk to other customers! We had to ask another server for our bill 20 minutes later as she was still talking to the other customers. Will not be back

Whilst visiting Slough for a weekend walked into town to eat. Approached a fairly empty pizza express restaurant at approx 6:30pm and asked for a table for 11 (6 adults, 5 kids). The obviously disgruntled kitchen staff were clearly put out, and as paying customers we were made to feel very unwelcome as the front of house was trying to seat us. We questioned if there was an issue to be told that they didn’t have enough tables! Clearly there were many empty tables and no staffing issues as they were all stood around waving their arms And cleaning the kitchen down. Had there been tables pre booked then they could have just explained that when we approached them! All in all there’s no wonder the restaurant was empty if that’s how your staff make potential customers feel. Anyway found a lovely curry house around the corner who were lovely and the food fantastic.

Went for lunch with my wife and a friend as the restaurant was EMPTY we were given a table quickly. While we were sitting my friend found a gum stuck below the table!! The person didn’t write the order on a pad or anything just was trying to memories our whole order after which we thought he would forget to put something through and he did forget 1 of our main course!!! When asked he politely said “let me check” and when he returned with the pizza he politely said “the kitchen forgot to make it”. My wife’s vegan pizza was horrible, didn’t look appetitive and the dough balls was a like floating in grease. Our pizzas were okish. They only reason I have 2 stars is because of the boys even though he forgot our mains, he was very polite and with some more training he could be a good staff..

My wife and son used to visit this restaurant every week, sometimes even twice a week after his swimming lessons. This routine went on until 2023. The staff was always friendly and welcoming, and they never had any issues with the service or food. It is unfortunate that the restaurant has closed down. I was shocked and deeply disappointed when I found out, as I'm sure many others in Slough will be too.
