Route 66 - Slatyfork

The odor of grease hits you as you walk in the door and seems to linger on the merchandise which is in the store. Sadly while the merchandise seems nice it just smells too awful to consider purchasing. As for the food, perhaps it is very good, but I couldn't stay to order

Be sure to try The Billy. It isn't on the menu but just order it. A delicious blend of sausage, egg, jack cheese on an everthing bagel. This is the only sandwiches that will love you back.

Great burger with some really good pepper jack cheese. Totally hit the spot. The gentlemen working the grill was also super pleasant and friendly.

We were here for the Yamaha Snowshoe GNCC race, staying in an AirBnB just dow the road from Snowshoe Mountain. We ate breakfast there twice and ordered a pizza to go...it was all small town, little hole in wall restaurant/gift shop, and we loved it! Those ladies working the register were awesome! Running between restaurant and gift shop, very friendly, and the food was great. Thank y'all so much for making you our top choice for dining.

We had a rollercoaster of a dinner at this restaurant. They are one of the few restaurants that closes late in the area and decided to go after night skiing and had show with our dinner. The six of us came in an hour and a half before they closed figuring it was more than enough time for the staff to make the food. So when we arrive I stand in front of the register waiting for someone to acknowledge me and a guy comes out from the kitchen and calls this girl sitting down and tells her we are trying to order she walks up and looks completely uninterested. We place our orders and then the cook begins yelling upset that we placed 6 orders 1.5 hours before close. He yells at another man to not take anymore orders that he’s closing the kitchen for the night and the man tells the cook that it’s not possible because they close in more than an hour and continues to take phone orders. At that point I was worried about our food. The food starts coming out in random order which is fine at this point we just want to leave. My burger was okay the cook doused it in mustard (clearly upset) I had to clean some of it off with a napkin. The pizza was gross, just inedible and the dough was still uncooked. My friends were also equally as disappointed with their food but at that time it was our only choice. The cook delivered the final order which was my wife’s breakfast platter and he acted completely different being super nice and offering condiments. It was weird. We could clearly hear him cussing and yelling about how upset he was that we placed those orders. The service needs a lot of work, I understand you want to go home but you can’t close the kitchen an hour and half before close. We won’t come back.
