Nostos - Siteia

Nostos is a restaurant, but has the feeling of a taverna, with quite comfortable seating, very hospitable staff who are willing to explain dishes or recommend what to eat. They have two daily (traditional) dishes they inform you about at your table, and they are written on the blackboard at the street. They serve many traditional and local dishes, from which we tried quite a few, and they were well prepared and really delicious and unlike anything we’ve ever had before in Greece. (And this is our 11th time visiting this wonderful country) Maybe that explains also why so many local Greeks eat here! Ofcourse, tourists come here as well. The menu has a wide variety of dishes and appetizers, ofcourse also including the ‘standard’ dishes you’ll expect in every taverna. A very relaxed and pleasant atmosphere. The toilets are very clean and tidy, which might be unimportant, but was another stand-out to me. When you are finished eating, you’ll get a piece of homemade cake and a tiny bottle of Greek raki, which serves about 4 shots. Prices are very decent, especially when you take into consideration that you’ll be eating something different and very well prepared. I highly recommend to enjoy a very tasty and original meal here, and please try some of the local/traditional dishes!!!

Beatiful place. Amazing food. You must try Foutaki from here because is delicoius. Unique grandma recipe you can't find it any where else. Owner is very kind and social

High quality food at reasonable prices. We order several seafood dishes and were quite satisfied. The server is very polite and friendly too! Deffinitely would come back.

Beautiful place, gorgeous view of the full moon in the evening right on the beach but most importantly: great service, nice staff, and succulent food. From the smoked eggplant salad to the pink fried crispy shrimps, and the grilled dorado. 100% recommend this place.

One of the best places to eat on Crete! Everything is delicious.
