Suntria Cafe - Sintra

An amazing Portuguese lunch buffet for 15€ Some of the best food we had in the town center where there are def other tourist traps

After a wonderful day wandering around Sintra and visiting the palace I came across this find establishment and noticed they have a buffet menu with lots of Portuguese cuisine . I decided to check it out and came back with a smile on my face . The food was amazing , they had such a variety of appetisers and two great mains . I even managed to squeeze in some desserts . All this great food for 12 euros . I thought I was dreaming .

My husband, 16 month old baby, mother in law and i went to Sintra for a day trip on my mother in law’s birthday. After a lot of sightseeing, we took refuge in Suntria to try a few local delicacies and celebrate. I’m so glad we did. The staff were incredibly accommodating and made us feel like family even providing amusment for our wee one. The selection of desserts we got (the queijada which is not to be missed, the “pillow” and the Suntria Bliss) were all divine. Not too sickly sweet but infinitely morish. We were recommended a beautiful vino verde which went down a treat. And to top it all off, we were given a complimentary portion of cherry liquor. Couldn’t recommend enough.

The atmosphere is pleasant and the waiters are friendly. The food is very good and it is wonderful to look at.
