The Hong Kong-style coffee is different from local blends and offers a distinct taste compared to western coffees. I highly recommend trying it; the aroma of the coffee beans is fantastic. For food, we ordered beef brisket, which was tender and flavorful. The noodles had a nice chewiness and paired beautifully with the beef sauce. Remember to ask for chili—it adds a great kick! We also tried the French toast, and wow! It was heavenly—soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. The thick pat of butter on top was sweet and delicious when spread over the toast, especially with honey… absolutely heavenly! We ordered Chee Cheong Fun with Char Siew. Interestingly, it didn’t come garnished, just the rolled strips of rice noodle and sauce. While the sauce was tasty, nothing particularly stood out. Next, we sampled the roasted carrot cake, which contained pieces of carrots and had a wonderfully soft interior, while the outside was perfectly fried and crispy. We also tried the chicken feet, which were tender and flavorful, with the skin easily slipping off the bones. After our meal, we headed next door to a bakery to indulge in some pastries. Everything we tried was delightful! The Char Siu Bao was particularly well-made, and we also enjoyed the little chicken cakes. Overall, it was a fantastic dining experience!
The xiduoshi French toast is nearly just as I remembered, the milk tea is rich and creamy, and the noodles have a nice springy texture. The chili oil is a must-have addition. While the chicken glutinous rice portion is small, it’s packed with flavor. The Congo... even though its texture isn’t quite the same as in Hong Kong, it has an addictive aroma. I also enjoyed the simple macaroni and instant noodles. There’s always a special value menu available for ordering nearly all day, except at night? I wasn’t there that evening, but I wish I had been. Meals like this can be pricey in Hong Kong too, so until my next trip, I’ll keep coming back for more!
Mal and I absolutely agree that this is one of the best dining spots around. You simply must try their crispy rolls with condensed milk, the bolob with butter, and the roasted vermicelli paired with their signature chili oil.
Food is nice. Food was ordered quite quickly. Just note that if there is a queue, there is no protection! Luckily there are large and large buildings around, so in the afternoon the sun does not shine on the queue:
Was at the bakery earlier, tuna bread is good! Old fashion bread that taste good and reasonable, they have pastries and a dine in cafe as well. The HK style… Along that stretch there are 2 restaurants that look interesting as well, check them out.
