Even if one were not aware, one would not have understood why they were accommodated where they were, without changes in furniture. In any case, I got confused. For the second time we had a special treat and ordered the menu. Chef just did what was good for the day, and that's when I understood what Grandmakase really meant. Chef is supposed to be from Dallas, and he's really good with his proteins. The beef he served was amazing. The Otoro hand roll was beautiful. The uni avocado taco, which has western influence, was an extreme bomb. Since the Underdog restaurant is moved around Shangri La, this room she is in the 3. Stock of Valley Wing are definitely not ideal. But if you went behind the story and understood what the team had to go through, this is actually a remarkable place where I would come back for the 3rd time, but only serve for the special grandmakas of the chef (not ask for the prize).
Beautiful restaurant with beautiful views and airy feeling. The service staff is very attentive and tailored to our wishes. Eating is generally good, although my steak has been boiled for medium skill, but it came medium-well and a bit dry. The udon Executive Set Lunch set was delicious and very good value at $35, but the $50 Steak set was not impressed. The Shokado Box bento $70 was changed to our request for “no shells”, but it was misinterpreted as “no raw food” so it is not representative of its usual offer.
I asked the boss to arrange "omakase." The taste and arrangement were great! Have fun. Will come back
They are now moved in the state room, spacious, but really not much of a look. We had a pleasant Omakase meal with warm service from the team (esp Krystal, very attentive and thoughtful). However, I would be pleased to see some meat products among all fish/seafood equipment. Interesting articles were: fish jelly (with gold flakes), okinawa sea grapes and firefly squid. Will be revisited when they return to their original premises on the higher floor (hopefully soon)!
I have been to many Omakase restaurant. This one is newly opened for 1 year and located at Shangarila hotel. However, the value for the Omakase menu is way too high compare to many other when comparing the food served and quality. Came with 5 type sashimi, 6 types sushi , rice with Okura and Uni, soup , grilled cod fish , seasonal fruit and appetiser that’s typical other restaurant may serve but serve by piece and not by the whole plate. A bit pricey and the 240 per pax, you can get a better one in singapore . Service is ok with beautiful view at level 24 of the hotel. Many sake and whiskey to choose from. I would try their ala Carte menu the next time . Good for business and family . However, the counter Chef is not as professional impart to other you would find from other Japanese restaurant
