Contribuiți la feedbackI recently tried the best Kampong steam chicken I have ever tasted in Singapore. The chicken was tender, fresh, and succulent. It was so delicious that I even bought some takeaway for my kids to enjoy later.
The chicken here is rather unique compared to other kampung chicken. It's very fragrant, and the portions are larger than expected! Overall the price is low for kampung chicken, with 28 for a whole chicken. Give it a go! It may not be everyone's style, but some will love it! The soup is not my style but everything else is great.
Rating: 4.5 stars The chicken is deliciously juicy, and the soup has a delectable savory flavor with hints of cabbage and winter melon. The rice is also quite tasty.
You can smell the aroma of the chicken soup right after you enter the shop. Not very fancy in style, just like the old school chicken rice place in Singapore. The chicken is yellow in color. I think although it markets it as kampong chicken. The meat is not as solid as expected. Still recommend to try. Cheap and tasty.
We drove past and decided to try the chicken rice at this restaurant. It was empty when we arrived and we were the only customers. We ordered from the man at the chicken counter who did not acknowledge us. The food was decent - the meat was soft and tender, and the vegetables were also fine. The salted fish steam mince pork was particularly good. We ordered drinks at the counter but the lady did not reply, and the drinks were eventually brought by the ponytail chef. When the food was served, none of the employees explained what each dish was. It felt like we were in a cafe full of employees who were unable to speak. Haha!
