Contribuiți la feedbackThe tapas here is amazing the garnel, the oktopus, the Angus-Rind must have. the sucking pig is so crispy and juicy, they will show them that it can be cut with a regular dish. the churros are also amazing. the personal is friendly and attentive. the ambiente is great. a fantastic option for large groups. can not recommend this place enough
Easily one of the best restaurant experiences in Singapore, with first class food, wine and service. I actually rate it better than the original FOC at Hong Kong St, with a couple of different menu options and more casual atmosphere.
Our trip to Singapore did not just end at Wine Connection, in fact I'd planned our food trip as well while in this tiny Republic which is not short of Michelin starred places as well as good Street food. I am blessed that I have a life partner who is as adventurous as me when it comes to food in fact she could take almost everything while I am more picky when it comes to food. How things have changed.. or rather how she had changed me all these years. I could still remember that all of us were starving after a few hours activities so we quickly took a taxi to go to our intended destination PIM PAM by FOC, the man behind owns a Michelin started restaurant Can Jubany in Spain . Being a fan of tapas, this place came highly recommended by my friend and also Google hey! Who doesn't trust Google these days? and it was quite near to Orchard Road which we would be going after the lunch so it was almost a no brainer choice. I wondered if we had reached the wrong place as the taxi stopped in front of the building. I had to double check the signage and the map just to confirm because there wasn't anyone but our family at that time. We were shown to our table by the friendly waiter. After placing our orders, I took time to walk around to take pictures and to check on their promotional menu. The whole restaurant was spacious, bright, and modern with its own bar should you decide just to have drinks. Tapas is perfect for those who can't eat much but loves varieties. I had hard time deciding on what to order because there are so many that I wanted to try. Oysters Ireland majestic oysters with ponzu escabeche was perfect starter to whet the aooetite Spanish anchovies salt cured Spanish anchoas with olive oil. Love the savoury flavour to nibble on while waiting for the rest to be served Cauliflower steak pan fried cauliflower topped with piparra, pine nuts and shaved parmesan cheese... Heavenly combination which I couldn't get enough of. I'd order this anytime Octopus Galician style FOC style pulpo a la Gallega which they served chopped into pieces rather than whole piece on a bed of mashed potato and dusted with smoked paprika. Pork scallop paella she loves seafood, I love pork.. these 2 combinations were perfect for us but in the end this dish was finished by the hungry kids. Iberico pork ribs perfectly cooked melt in the mouth ribs which brought out my carnivorous nature! Classic churros sweet lunch deserves sweet ending and what more suitable than what Spanish does best? Simple churros with chocolate dipping sauce.. managed to steal a bite before the kids devour the dessert. This was the most expensive meal we had in Singapore but it was a money well spent kind of lunch because everything was so memorable. Will I come back again? You bet!
Overall my dining experience here with my family was delightful. The service was good for most parts. Corkage for bringing our own wine is about 40. Food portions were decent, not generous but the quality of the food was mostly good. We had a few tapas, seafood paella a tad salty and the rice level was less than a cm thick, definitely not the traditional paella portions u can find in Spain and the roasted suckling pig. The highlight for dinner was definitely the suckling pig, enough to feed 4 6 on average. 2 issues to raise: 1. Price of wine was definitely on the high side, consumers today are armed with information, most of the wine are tagged at a much higher premium to what you can buy on your own, add 40 80 to any bottle plenty of wine sites in Singapore . I do feel that the dining experience will be better with more reasonable pricing. While I understand about profits, it is a question of whether the restaurant chooses regular stream of customers versus one time disgruntled customers who balked at the high prices. 2. The server commented that the wine I brought was corked had wet newspaper smell , however my bottle cork was synthetic plastic cork type hence not possible and I had a wine chiller at home. It was fine. Regardless, I do feel that the comment is unnecessary especially when the customer brings his own wine.
A very random location as it's in a building I've never entered before, but the food was pretty good. Flavourful without being overwhelming, portion sizes were reasonable enough, and generally cooked with a lot of finesse! Decor is a bit odd but I heard they are getting rid of the giant sculptures.
