Five Star Kampung Chicken Rice Kitchen (cheong Chin Nam)

I'm not a big fan of steam chicken but Five star made it really good that I was impressed with the taste and so as the presentation when it was served. Dining area looks clean. Staff are fast and efficient. If you come in a group and share assorted dishes, it makes the price more affordable.

Good service and food were served fast. Ordered our usual favourite dishes for dinner such as sweet and sour pork, you tiao, veg, prawn paste chicken and their signature toufu. Delicious meal.

I always enjoy dining at this restaurant. Last night, I had the chicken rice, seafood hor fun, salted egg pork ribs, prawn roll, sotong sambal, and kangkong belachan. All the dishes were fantastic, especially the prawn roll and sotong sambal. It’s definitely a place I’ll return to. I visited again on the evening of April 28, 2022. Once more, the food was great, and the service was excellent. I ordered the sweet and sour pork, which was also delicious. I look forward to coming back again.

Recently everyone is eating chicken rice in Singapore for fear of no nice hainanese chicken rice from June 2022, so we decided to join in the crowd and go to one of our favourite chicken rice place. Five star chicken has maintained it's standard and the rice is fragrant (and not too soft/crumbly). The restaurant still had seats when we arrived but it filled up and there were people queuing when we left. The zi char dishes here are also quite good.

Delicious and reliable chicken rice along Bukit Timah Street. The chicken portion could be a bit larger, but the rice with garlic sauce, as well as the stir-fried vegetables and tofu, were fantastic!
