Contribuiți la feedbackBlack tap is one of the only places in Singapore that I could find that has gluten free mentioned on their menu. There is the option to swap the bun of any burger to a gluten free bun for an addition $3 dollars. Our waitress was very knowledgeable and advised us which burgers were coeliac friendly as they were and which we would need to make changes to. The fries unfortunately were not coeliac friendly as they were cooked in the same oil as fried chicken however you could swap the fries out for a salad. We also asked about gluten free shake options which she was not 100% sure of as they used 3rd party branded ingredients however she returned to the kitchen to check the ingredients lists for all the shake ingredients and returned with an answer. She excluded anything that said it may contain gluten as she was aware of and understood the cross contamination issue so only advised us to have the flavours specifically marked as gluten free. Our food came out very quickly and all together which was excellent. Good portions were huge and our group of 5 all agreed that their burger was very delicious and worth the time we waited to get a table.
I inquired about gluten-free options for milkshakes and discovered they weren't available. My waiter was uncertain about the rest of the menu, so he went to check. I understood that most appetizers like chips and queso, fries, and roasted Brussels sprouts contained traces of gluten and they couldn't guarantee there wouldn't be cross-contamination, but he didn't go into detail. He mentioned that some burgers could be safe, and he confirmed that the spinach salad was definitely gluten-free. I decided to order the salad. When it arrived, he informed me that the dressing could also contain trace amounts of gluten but offered to bring a vinaigrette instead. After confirming that the vinaigrette had no gluten ingredients, I decided to take a chance. Fortunately, I didn’t get sick afterward. Honestly, I think more items could have been gluten-free, but they wanted to err on the side of caution since I mentioned I have celiac disease. The selection wasn't extensive, but it was functional.
They offer delicious gluten-free hamburger rolls that taste amazing. However, the French fries are not gluten-free. You can substitute the fries for a salad for an additional $3, which is also quite tasty.
We also inquired about gluten-free shake options. While she wasn't completely sure about the use of third-party brand ingredients, she went back to the kitchen to check the ingredient lists and returned with a thorough response. They informed us of any ingredients that could contain gluten, demonstrating their awareness of cross-contamination issues, and only recommended flavors specifically labeled as gluten-free. Our food arrived quickly, and everything was excellent. The portions were generous, and our group of five all agreed that the burgers were delicious. We also appreciated the short wait time to get a table.
This restaurant is amazing! They serve delicious gluten-free hamburger buns that are absolutely delightful. However, keep in mind that the French fries are not gluten-free. You have the option to substitute the fries for a salad for just $3, and the coleslaw is also quite flavorful.
