They consistently offer a fresh seafood selection at a lower level than their dining area, including lobster, geoduck, groupers, crabs, and their specialty razor shells. The razor shells here are renowned for being the most authentic in Singapore, with unparalleled quality and a unique texture that sets them apart from other varieties.
Located at 200 Turf Club Street, Main Grandstand Turf City Bukit Timah, 287994 Singapore, Ah Yat Seafood Restaurant offers a wide selection of delicious seafood options. The friendly staff and cozy atmosphere make for a welcoming dining experience. With over 100 types of live seafood available, guests can choose their desired dish straight from the live seafood tanks located conveniently outside the restaurant. The dedicated and experienced chefs also offer a variety of Hong Kong style dishes and more than 28 types of Hong Kong Dim Sum to complement your meal. Overall, Ah Yat Seafood Restaurant is a seafood lover's dream come true.
I love this restaurant because we get to choose our own seafood from the unique seafood market located just outside. They offer a variety of options such as lobsters, fresh abalones, oysters, fish, shells, and crabs, most of which are available at a 50% discount. The oysters are plump and the fish is tender and smooth. While the other dishes are very tasty, the mee sua we ordered was disappointing as it felt like cardboard. However, I recommend trying their ee foo noodles instead if you are in the mood for noodles. Overall, if you are looking for fresh seafood, this restaurant is worth considering.
Despite its rather “nostalgic” environment and lack of service, I still give 5 stars for the great execution, succulent and fresh seafood which is good value for money. Jumbo oyster steamed with garlic is fantastic, plump and juicy. My favorite. Australian lobster baked with cheese surprised us as well. The cheese they used is not only cheese but mixed with maybe starch or potato that tasted lighter with extra layer of flavor. Apart from seafood, the vegetables, noodles and pork dish were excellent. Even the presentation of dish doesn’t look good at all.
Raw seafood material can be picked at the unique seafood staff just in front of this restaurant and Ah Yat can cook in the ways you like. The seafood is very fresh and good for steam. For crab, definitely should try white-papper, or chilli the traditional style in Singapore Currently during CNY, this restaurant is usually full house on weekend and Friday night, better to book the table before going there. The tables are put quite close to one another... Not a good place to have the deep chats...
