Contribuiți la feedbackWhat a fantastic evening in Clarke Quay! Situated along a bustling strip of bars and clubs, my friend and I chose this place as our first destination for a night out. We had such a great time that we ended up staying there the entire night! I initially walked in expecting to hear Vietnamese music (given the name), but I was completely mistaken. I'm a huge fan of live music, and the band playing was just perfect for me all night long. They happily accommodated all my somewhat wild song requests, which was a thrill for me. My best friend and I also made some new friends among the regulars, who definitely enhanced our overall experience. Although I didn’t try the food (I heard it wasn’t very good), and I found the drinks to be a bit overpriced and watered down, we still had a blast. I would definitely recommend adding this place to your list of stops!
For a disclaimer, I never ordered the main dishes, but I did try the crème brûlée, and it really ruined my night. The texture was off-putting, reminiscent of baby vomit, and the flavor was overwhelmingly like coffee. They should really consider renaming this dish to “not on the menu anymore.”
After dining at Little Saigon, I've come to the conclusion that the restaurant excels in ambiance, music, and location. However, the food was just average. I ordered the beef and pork pho, which was more expensive than similar dishes at less touristy places, yet not as flavorful. Despite this, it’s still a nice spot and a pleasant way to wrap up an evening out.
Late nights and you're hungry? Sure. Tip: do not get the curry fries (no hint of curry) They do not serve water. They sell Evian bottled water for $8 SGD. We got the platter filled w/ fried delicacy that were mediocre at best however, the fried chicken wings and egg rolls were good. chicken wings had a crispy exterior and juicy insides egg rolls were fried perfectly A rather extensive menu and prices weren't too bad considering this is a major tourist area. Service was great, the food came out pretty fast, and I sincerely wish they reconsider the water offerings. They looked at me weird for wanting iced water.
Stick around for a beer or two and grab a seat overlooking the river. It's right next to the river boat tours so you can watch people, and watch boats coming in and out. I did stick around a bit longer and went for their big sampler and fried rice. It's basically everything on their menu all on one plate. All good stuff and they give a lot of food. It's still hot even under their covered outdoor seating, but at least some of their fans still work.
