Great American Cookies - Simpsonville

Tonight, I had a strong desire for the Watermelon frozen yogurt, and since we knew they closed at 9 PM, we planned to go there, remembering that we had previously arrived later. We walked into the store at 8:35 PM, only to find that both employees informed us that the machines were already shut down. Having worked in the service industry myself, I understand the exhaustion that can come at the end of a long shift when customers show up. It’s easy to feel frustrated and just want to call it a night. However, it’s important to remember that we are there to serve customers, and we are being compensated for our time. A positive attitude can make a big difference, especially during those late-night cravings we all experience. I felt compelled to write this review because I drove 30 minutes to indulge this craving, only to be turned away 30 minutes before closing. That’s simply not acceptable.

This morning, I went to the store hoping my cake would be there waiting for me, but the doors were locked. After knocking on the door, a staff member let me in. I explained that I had prepaid for a cookie cake that was supposed to be ready yesterday, but after searching the store, he couldn't find any. He called the store's general manager, only to be told that they hadn’t baked any cakes at all! It seemed they were aware of outstanding cake orders but failed to act. Where is the customer service? Why didn't anyone call me? They had my contact number on the receipt! If I had been notified on the pick-up day, I could have gone to another Great Cookie location in town, but instead, I'm now scrambling to find a replacement cake. I’m left with a generic cookie cake that isn’t decorated as my child wanted for his birthday. Instead of celebrating, I’m out chasing down a cake! This situation is both unacceptable and frustrating, especially since I placed my order directly with the general manager. A simple phone call could have changed my entire experience with this store. I will not be returning!

They're having a special offer of 10 cookies for $11, which saves you nearly $7 if you visit as often as I do. The young Caucasian woman working on 9/11/20 around 4:30 PM provided excellent customer service. The cookies were fresh and abundant, and the brownies were just as good. Unfortunately, the icee machine was out of order, but there's a gas station nearby.

The experience was somewhat disappointing. The Cheesecake Brownie was decent, but at $2.99, it felt overpriced. Overall, the food was just average, and the portions were rather small. They also offer yogurt with toppings.
